Supported Internship (Beverley)
About This Course
This course is for learners with special educational need (who have an EHC Plan) who want to progress into paid employment. During your internship, you will spend a large amount of time with an employer, gaining work experience, with the aim of giving you a real insight into the world of work.
What You Will Learn
- Supported work experience
- Practical life skills
- Mathematics and English if appropriate
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, but you must have:
- A satisfactory college interview
- Ability to travel independently
- Suitable references and/or assessment matched to individual learner needs
- Appropriate level of English and mathematics
Work Experience
As previously mentioned within the course description, work experience with an employer will form a fundamental aspect of this course.
Trips, Visits & Guest Speakers
External activities may include trips to reinforce employment opportunities. These should apply to course delivery.
What Next?
You could progress onto either supported employment, voluntary work or paid employment.
