TQUK L2 Certificate in Allergy Awareness
Over the past few years, the number of people who experience allergic reactions has been steadily rising. Today, there are an estimated two million people in the UK living with an allergy. The objective of this qualification is to introduce those who work in health and social care, with children, or in the service sector, to allergens, allergies, food labelling, and allergy awareness. The course includes information on the symptoms of allergic reactions, the treatments available for allergic reactions, and first aid for those experiencing a severe allergic reaction.The course is suitable for a wide range of learners who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of allergies. It may be useful as an introduction for those who wish to pursue a career in working with people who have allergies, or those preparing for a wide range of job roles in diverse sectors which require them to have an awareness of allergies as part of their responsibilities.
Allergy Awareness is split into three manageable units:Unit 1: Allergens, allergies and intolerances (Mandatory)Unit 2: Food labelling and packaging (Mandatory)The learner will complete two mandatory units then select a third from the choices available, as shown below.Unit 3: Allergy awareness for those working with children (Optional)Unit 4: Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care (Optional)Unit 5: Allergy awareness for those working in the service sector (Optional)
